Techland, developers of Dying Light 1 & 2 have just dropped a gorgeous image teasing their unannounced AAA fantasy open world action RPG.

The image depicts a man in the foreground looking out over a lush river gorge with two meeting waterfalls surrounding an ancient ruin.

According to Techland this will be a new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world designed to be a truly next-gen experience.

The team behind this new IP includes a heady group of AAA gaming industry veterans. I’m not going to attempt to butcher their names so I’ll just give you their positions in the team and their previous work.

Narrative Director known for creating the Bloody Baron questline in Witcher 3.
Narrative Lead formly of Witcher 3 and Witcher 2.
Open World Director formerly of Cyberpunk 2077.
Lead Animator formerly of Horizon Zero Dawn.
Lead Game Designer formerly of Deathloop.
and Creative Director formerly of Mad Max and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

Techland’s CEO says: ““We’re very happy with what we have accomplished with the Dying Light franchise so far. Moreover, our journey with Dying Light 2 Stay Human has only just begun as we plan to support this game for at least 5 years, with its scope and size matching, if not exceeding, what we have provided our community with during post-launch support for its predecessor. At the same time, our ambition is to introduce a brand new IP that is vastly different from what we have been doing for the past several years. We want to create a fully next-gen experience. A new fantasy epic set in a sprawling open world, fueled by the skills and experience we have gained as a team over the years, infused with new ideas, passion, and creativity. While we cannot share more details about this project now, we’re all truly invested in it and looking forward to showing it to gamers when the time is right.”

Techland is also looking for new talents to join the company including those interested in becoming part of the team working on this upcoming AAA open world action RPG.
